Reading: Benefits ,problems and concerns :-

Suppose if your teacher takes you to the library and gives everyone a book to read, you open the pages where you find a lot of  lots of chapters or information, but no pictures.You might come to think, " This book is so boring.I wish it had some pictures..."  Think about this again.Why does reading make you think of yawning and endless hours of boredom? The reason to that is quite simple.
Now think of another scenario.The weekend has arrived and your mother has allowed you to sit in front of the computer as long as you want.You are excited because now you have a lot of time.. probably for chatting with your friends on Facebook or gaming.Now ponder upon this situation.Why did gaming and chatting made you happy while reading made you bored?
The reason is that nowadays the media is reaching the peak of its popularity especially among us youngsters and teenagers.We connect with the world in just a few mouse clicks and get the latest entertainment on just a press of our remote control. Reading had been the almost the least popular way entertainment.This is an issue to strictly take action upon.This is not healthy for our present and future generations.Action movies are really popular among the young boys of our society.They learn and try to imitate the fight moves and stunts that is very dangerous for them and the people around them.Researchers have proved that this violence affects the minds of our children, specifically boys and they are afraid that they can grow up to become bullies, serial killers and criminals.This problem is also common even in the girls.The way ordinary stories are shown on the media set their minds towards the wrong direction.They spent hours of chatting with people they don't even know.In a society like ours this is very dangerous because many people and cyber criminals can use their personal information for wrong purposes.There is a list long list of such cases.The only way to get rid of this problem is to lure the children and the youth towards reading.It might be hard to do so but once if you get into a habit of reading, you can't get out. I myself was given exposure to reading at an early age of five.This was because of the influence of my own family and my school and I must say that reading is no doubt the best entertainment in the world.Once you pick up a book and start to read it, you can't put it down until you finish the whole of it.The sheer pleasure of reading cannot be obtained anywhere else.Reading observantly does not only give you information and knowledge , but also a vivid imagination, a wider eye and good observational skills.It also enhances your vocabulary.Thus, the benefits of reading are endless.
Reading doesn't have any bad effects as long as you keep reading good books.Reading trash or wrong and inappropriate books can badly lay impacts on your mind. So read material that is good ,appropriate and trusted.
Another thing I must mention here is that these days cheating and reading material theft is widely common among people.In libraries the reason why the management concern with your address and phone number is that people tear pages from the books because they know that the librarian won't get to know.They steal material from the books instead of getting it photocopied or issued.It is hard to work on this one because you can't everywhere and anyone's pockets for torn pages.
So,this concludes my concern about all these problems and benefits related to reading.I hope you got your attention towards the issues and have thought about working on it from today. That will be the work from your side.Encourage everyone you know to read more other than the course books as they say:
